I had my RNY on 11/17 so I am very newly post-op. I have been overweight for 30 years. I have been participating in the lightweight forum and someone there mentioned this group. I am 51 years old. Is there room for one more in your circle?

Surgery went great! I came home yesterday and last night was kind of rough. I spiked a temp up to 101.5 and had a coughing fit that I couldn't stop. I am trying very hard to get my liquid in. It is amazing to me how little I can eat and feel overstuffed. I think i ate to much last night and that is what caused my coughing.
I have not been able to get the protein in since surgery. Today I am up to 20 grams but how i am going to get 20 more before bedtime is beyond me.
I will do as Dori said and JUST KEEP SWIMMING.

I am pre-surgery and just found this site also. Everyone is very welcoming and it is good to get perspective from people your own age - I am 52.

don't worry if you can't get all your protein and water in yet...happens to all of us at the start...you will get more in each day as time goes on trust me.
